How should I prepare for my appointment?

Please come to your appointment with freshly cleaned and dry hair.

For Bridal, you will need to have freshly cleaned and dry hair at least 24 hours beforehand. If you have natural curls, you will need to blow out your hair if you do not want to use your natural curls for your desired look.

How do I save the date?
A $100 retainer is required at booking. The booking / travel fee is non-refundable and non transferable, is to be paid after quote is sent and contracted services are agreed upon. This fee covers holding your date, milage to and from on site location within 30 min from Amherst NY, as well as set up/clean up on the wedding date. Every additional minute over will be $1 per minute. The remaining balance will be invoiced to the email you provide and due 30 days before your wedding date.

Full Day Service!!
I will perform any touch ups needed before leaving the venue.

However, if you wish to have me stay past completed services, for additional touch ups or a second style, the payment options are before.

$50 an hour for additional services throughout the ceremony.

$135 for an additional second style following after the ceremony.

Braids

Aftercare Instructions
After you have finished your appointment and are ready to relax, make sure to hairspray any fly aways down and either use a silk bonnet or silk pillow case at bedtime!

Can I get my braids wet?
For feed ins, I advise not to get your braids wet as they will get weighted down from the artificial hair and may fall out and not last as long as you would like them too! This goes for normal braid appointments too ◡̈  Shimmers can get wet!

Can I use my own extensions?
Yes of course! I will install them and braid them right into your natural hair!

Shimmers

How long do shimmers last?
Shimmers normally stay in anywhere from 2 weeks to a couple months! It all depends on your type of hair. For thin hair, shimmers tend to fall out faster. For thick course hair, shimmers tend to stay a little longer ◡̈

Can I dye my hair while the shimmers are in?
Yes! Shimmers are 100% silk, they will not change color or damage the hair.

Aftercare Instructions - also refer to your shimmer guide 
After the first 24 hours, it is normal to lose anywhere from 5-8 shimmers! Avoid brushing from the root, try brushing from the bottom of your hair to the top.

Can I use hot tools while I have shimmers?
Yes! Shimmers are 100% silk, so you can style them just like your natural hair.

Travel Fee

Anything outside the 30 minutes travel time, will have a travel fee of $1 per minute over!

Question 6

Cancellations

Accepted Answer

I understand that life happens, and appointments sometimes must be canceled. If you need to cancel your appointment, please let us know 48 hours or more in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours of notice will forfeit half of payment for services booked. Appointments canceled with less than 12 hours notice or no notice at all will forfeit full payment of services booked.

Return & Refund Policy

At Braids By Somer, we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction. However, due to the nature of our hair products, including all sale items, they are non-returnable and non-refundable. Due to hygienic reasons and the safety of our customers. We appreciate your understanding.

For other products, we accept returns within 14 days of your purchase date. Please note that return shipping is not included. Once we receive your returned item, we will promptly issue a refund to your original payment method.
